Our Story

We are a community of people walking with Jesus together. In 2010, God called a small group of families to join His mission in the New River Valley to proclaim and promote the gospel of Christ. We are committed to working with many other Christ-honoring local churches in our Valley as we seek to love our neighbors and see them transformed by the gospel.

VBC began in a living room, grew to an old department store building, and then grew to a 100 year old (and renovated) church building. Throughout all of our growth as a congregation we have sent people to other parts of the world as missionaries and church planters. We are a church that plants churches, so we don’t have a goal of creating the largest church or having multiple campuses. We want to see lives changed by encounters with the Living God.
